First Christmas

Here are some pictures from Olivia's first Christmas. Yes I did have a million different outfits for the occasion- and yes I made her wear them all.

First Week Back at Work

Last week was my first week back at work- boy was Monday emotional for me! I had a few minor breakdowns at home before I took her to daycare- but when I got to daycare and actually had to part from her was the hardest part :(. I kept myself super busy at work but the day just seemed to drag on until finally it was 5:30 and I was out the door! I got about halfway home and I just started crying because I couldn't get home fast enough. I rushed in the door and shed a few more tears and didn't let go of her for the rest of the night. It definitely makes me appreciate each and every moment that I do get to spend with her a little more. First week down- I survived!!

One Month Old!!

I can't believe it but Olivia is already one month old. I can't believe how fast time is flying by- I guess everybody was right when they told me how fast it was going to go. We went to the doctor and surprisingly she weighs in at 8 pounds 15 ounces. She is growing so much and getting so big!

Venturing Out Into The World

Well I finally got brave enough to take Olivia out of the house. I spent about 3 weeks in the house and I was going a little crazy myself. Our first official outing was to see her big cousin Kaylie's school Christmas program. Kaylie did such a good job as an elf and Olivia did a good job of sleeping through everything. The next day we went out to eat to celebrate the news of finding out we are going to have a new little boy in the family in about 3 months. We are all so excited to find this news out and can't wait until the little guy is here! Last Sunday was a busy day for us- we went to Kaylie and Maddie's church Christmas program and then we had our first Christmas party at my aunt and uncle's house. Olivia was really good through all of these outings which is making me a little more confident about taking her out.

2 Weeks

We made it through another week! I can't believe how fast the days seem to be flying by. It seems as though I wake up with her early in the morning and before I know it- it is time for bed again. We had our first doctors appointment last Wednesday and Olivia is doing great. She was at 7lbs 4oz and at 20 3/4in. So she is gaining weight- which is a relief to hear because she still seems so tiny to me! She is still kind of fussy at night- but can go for stretches of 4 hours where she is sound asleep. She is staying awake more and more after she eats which is fun because I get to talk to her- even if she just stares at me like I am crazy!

Surviving the First Week

We made it through the week- I can hardly believe that tomorrow she will already be a week old! It seems like just yesterday I was still pregnant. It has been interesting these first few nights at home especially trying to get up and down with her while recovering. I think she is starting to settle into some sort of pattern though- knock on wood!

She's Here!!!!!!

Well the big day finally arrived! I'll spare everybody the gory details- but I started going into labor Sunday morning at about 3:00am- went into the hospital at about 4:30am and Olivia was born at 9:41PM! She was a stubborn one- but obviously completely worth it. She was sunny side up and just did not want to come into the world without some hard work! After a day of labor pains- followed by 3 doses of pain medication- throwing up- followed by 3 doses of anti-nausea medication- and 2.5 hours of pushing- my doctor decided that a c-section was probably my best option. So Olivia was born at 9:41pm- weighed in at 7 lbs 1 oz- and measured at 20.5 inches long. I've included a few pictures- I have a million but didn't think that I should overload it on the first entry. Thank you to everybody who visited and for all of the congratulations!

Progress

I just came from my appointment and at least there has been some progress since last week. I have thinned out more and am now dilated between 1-2cm- it's a start!

Today's Not The Day

So today was my "official" due date and you guessed it- no baby! I wasn't actually expecting to go today- but I don't feel any different than I did 3 weeks ago. I have an appointment tomorrow morning and she said we could talk about my options for inducing. I'm surprisingly not that uncomfortable- besides the minor backache when I walk. I've had this feeling since last week that she will be here on Wednesday- so let's see if I am right! I'll let you know what happens at my appointment tomorrow!
